We launched Fri Period in 2023 with the mission to make periods easier, comfier & more planet-friendly.

We met in Japan, and immediately bonded over a love of adventure, a mutual commitment to sustainability, and the desire to give our daughters better options for managing their periods than we had growing up.
We loved the idea of period underwear but were dissatisfied with the lack of supply chain transparency, and potentially harmful chemicals found in some of our favorite brands.
We also didn't love how our fave underwear look stained and unattractive after a few wears.

We wanted a product that was safe & easy to use, ethically made, and that would last for years.

Fast forward three years and we both lived in Houston, TX with our families. Houses swamped with fabric swatches and prototypes, our dream became a reality and Fri Period was officially launched in September 2023!
Meet the team
Nina has a background in business development and marketing, and a masters degree in human rights law. Ensuring Fri Period has a transparent supply chain with fair working conditions is important to her.
When not throwing her heart and soul into Fri Period, Nina can be found at the beach or working on her next fiction novel.

Amy has a masters degree in zoology and worked in conservation education. She loves that, through Fri Period, she's making a positive impact on reducing the nearly 20 billion single-use period products that end up on landfill each year in the US alone.
When she's not working on Fri Period, Amy can be found playing with her miniature dachshunds and planning her next Disney trip.
Laurie is Fri Period’s numbers lady. With an MBA and many years’ experience advising companies on their financial and organizational strategies, she plays an important role in the sustainable growth of Fri Period. Laurie is passionate about helping small businesses, and has her own consultancy business doing just that.
When Laurie isn’t contributing to the growth of young companies, she enjoys keeping active and planning breaks in the mountains of Alaska, where she used to live.
